Bank accounts are evaporating. Houses once homes to families are now homes to animals and other forms of unthinkable or unusual dwellers. The lines in places selling anything above necessity are shrinking. Slim are the numbers of the healthy among us. The earth is void of many of it's former occupants compliments of the transcending invasion of natural disasters. Hearts are working overtime to muster up hope enough to go on. Faith in "goodness" is being tested and coming up short. Encouraging news is dwindling. All due to a new suffering in the earth.

Famine: Extreme and general scarcity of food, as in a city or country; a period of extreme and general dearth, threatening or resulting in starvation; hence, an extreme and general scarcity or dearth of anything; also, extreme hunger; starvation; also, violent appetite, as of a starving person.

Oh, the dreams that I could share with you, regarding this definition but I dare not; I only pray that they were not from the Lord and not a preview of things to come. God forbid - if so - things that civilized man does not allow himself to imagine or meditate upon.

Psalm 82: 3 - 5 - Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; rid them out of the hand of the wicked. They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Why? Why must we endure these plagues? What is the force behind it all? Many from former days and places have endured hardships as well. (I really don't want to address that issue in this writing. There is one particular vein of interest in all of these goings on presently that continues to wave a flag at me and that is what I would like to focus on.)

I see in all the shifting out there that our society needs to do a resetting or reformatting for our way of thinking. As you may have noted along with me, those who were already hurting before all of these disasters infiltrated our infrastructure, are most likely the ones who will be suffering the most. Although, I've heard many a story of the wealthy not faring any better than those already mentioned. We're all feeling the "crunch"!

The Lord has made me keenly aware of how sensitive and volatile these days could become. If you think you've seen road rage, if you think you've seen tempers, if you think you've seen abuse, if you think you've seen wickedness in human behaviors, breaking of the laws that protect individuals (their privacy and/or their possessions); I find myself calculating the effect of this increased strain and pressure upon the human psyche and then on into our social system.

How secure are our minds and spirits when it comes to dealing with such changes as we are experiencing today? We may become emptied of much. We may behold much casualty and loss, before we regain, if we will. So my question is, "How is our resolve to remain true to what will goodly and rightly sustain us as we transition through?"

I really do hate to say things like this but last summer the Lord spoke this to me:

He said, "Ginger, people are going to get really good at calling upon me in the future." That was just a warning that things were going to continue to not go so well! That was almost one year ago and look at our current status! I don't think that He was wrong! Do you?

I can't help but fall back on a scripture that I've heard since the days of my childhood:

Luke 21: 25,28 - And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken, and then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud of glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luke 21: 34 - 36 - And take heed to yourselves, last at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

This is not a plug for my book (that I've spoken of so much throughout these sites), but the Lord took me into an in-depth study of this, in that year - 2004.

I believe that we must be so careful about our perception of this hour and day! This isn't business as usual. We are facing extreme alteration in every area of life and we must find some wise counsel with which to guide us through safely. Without proper evaluation of our global situation, chaos could break forth on every side, speaking in terms of our "reactions" alone. If we respond outside of a configured foresight, we ultimately will add injury to injury, thereby intensifying the already intense malady which faces us.

Malady: Any illness of mind or body.

One of the biggest problems facing us, is the lack of knowledge, as to how to have been prepared for such a time as this. Was there something, someone or any thing that could have given us a head's up for everything that we are now suddenly experiencing? Why do we not seem to be equipped with the wherewithal to buoy up now?

2 Chronicles 20: 20 - And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established, believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

John 16: 13 - 16 - Howbeit when he the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me; for he shall receive of mine and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine; therefore said I , that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

John 14: 26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

God has equipped the saints with the ability to know of a thing - before it takes place! There are many in the earth today, who are hearing His voice, and are sharing the warnings. God has ordained that we be taken care of and not caught unaware.

Let's identify the "root" of our problem:

Romans 8: 19 - 22 - For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

What does this scripture have to do with anything? Well, everything! As I've stated in other articles, God gave man dominion over his own life, and over the earth. What we do with it, is up to us. There are consequences to every choice and action. When we violate the "laws" that control this universe; the universe responds accordingly. Believe it or not, morality has much to do with the health of this earth! Look at this:

Isaiah 24: 1 - 5 - Behold, the Lord maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usery to him. The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled; for the Lord hath spoken this word. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

You must remember or come to know, that the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. (Deuteronomy 10: 14; 1 Corinthians 10: 26). We only operate within the structure that God has already 'set' forth in the earth:

Isaiah 42: 5 - Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Going back to Isaiah 25, which describes what happens to the earth, when man violates the laws that govern. Look now at Isaiah 26, and we will see there, an interesting instruction in light of the preceding chapter:

Isaiah 26: vs 1) - In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. (I just spoke to you about the 'buoy' or the strength to uphold us - what will that be? And we know that we need saving, right now! This saving, in whatever form it comes, will come up around us to protect us, like those walls.) vs 2) Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. (In other words, open the gates to that strong, fortified city and let us in. Let us dwell there, within those gates! What will make the city that way? What will allow us to enter in and to dwell in 'that' city - the one described in verse 1? The answer is: keeping the truth!) vs 3) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee. (In order to live our lives in the prosperous nature that God intended, we must rule our lives with a certain mind. If and when things begin to go in a contrary/destructive direction, then we must surely set our minds in that place that He initially set forth for us! What if you find yourself to be in a situation, not of your own creating? Then, you'd better set your mind, first, upon God, and then keep it there. And you'd better ask Him for wisdom to 'bring you out'! So, at all times, in all things, no matter what the circumstances, our minds need to be set on Him, in order that we see a good end result!) 4) Trust in the Lord for ever; for in the Lord JE-HO-VAH is everlasting strength. (You must know Him, before you can trust Him! And in these diverse days, you will fare a lot better if you know Him - than if you don't! Trust me!)

So, what is the buoy, to prepare us to prevail? It is to agree with the way that things are set up, by God. The Word of God tells us of the ways of God. If we don't know those words or those ways, or if we are lacking in our understanding of them, then we need to get busy and arm ourselves with that knowledge - now!

Hosea 4: 6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge;

Genesis 41: 27 - And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine.

Famine:

Amos 8: 11 - 13 - Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away, the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Psalm 37: 1 - Fret not thyself because of evil-doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of evil. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
